Learning Objectives:
At the end of this programme you will have:

  • Improved your understanding of the evolving and often complex Contracting for Services processes;
  • Enhanced your abilities in applying public procurement principles and UNICEF procurement policy in your processes;
  • Deepened your understanding of Contracting for Services best practices in UNICEF;
  • Further developed the skills required to transfer knowledge and increase the efficiency of UNICEF procurement processes (e.g. analytical skills, ability to formulate TORs etc).

Audience:
The target audience for this learning programme is Procurement, Supply, Programme and Operations staff – especially colleagues dealing with Contracting for Services processes (Institutional Contracts) as either requisitioners or contracting/procurement staff.

Topics Covered:
Each case study is focused on one or more steps of the procurement process. The topics covered are:

  • Case Study A: Planning, ToR and Evaluation;
  • Case Study B: Bid Receipt, Evaluation and Award;
  • Case Study C: Planning, Sourcing and Procurement Method;
  • Case Study D: Contract Management and Administration.

Course Duration and Structure:
The programme is divided in three parts as follows:

1. Online case studies on AGORA: From 7 to 18 September, accessible at your own time and pace (including the forums on reflection points).

2. Webinars: 1.5 hours live webinars from 21 to 25 September for different regions. Separate invitations will be sent out by UNICEF Supply Division Contracting Centre. The webinars will cover the case studies as well as other issues considered as key to improve Contracting for Services practice in UNICEF.

3. Online mentoring period on AGORA: From 28 September to 2 October for further guidance and support in this area.
