In this short course you will explore the key features of an SNIN and how it can support nutrition programs. Explore considerations for ensuring that an SNIN is effective and useful. You will also learn about the types of data that a SNIN can include and explore the attributes and processes that make up the data value chain within a SNIN.

  • Describe the purpose and main characteristics of an SNIN.
  • Consider good practices to ensure the effectiveness of an SNIN.
  • Explain what nutrition facts should be included in an SNIN
  • Describe the value chain of nutrition data.

Se trata de un curso de nivel intermedio dirigido a cualquier persona interesada en ampliar sus competencias y conocimientos en sistemas de información nutricional, y que necesite coordinar y colaborar con socios y partes interesadas en este tema.

  Duration

You can complete the modules at your own pace. It will take you 2.5-3 hours to complete all four modules of the course.

  Methodology

This course is made up of short animated self-study modules, including various examples and activities.

     Structure

The course is divided into four self-study modules:

  • Module 1 - Introduction to SNIN
  • Module 2 – Ensuring an NNIS is effective
  • Module 3 – NNIS data
  • Module 4 – The NNIS data value chain
