This course has been designed to strengthen UNICEF’s ongoing work to strategically incorporate Behavioural Insights (BI) as a tool to promote the rights and well-being of every child.

This will be achieved by:

  • Describing how BI can (or cannot) be leveraged as a tool to boost the effectiveness of projects with government and internal partners.
  • Approaching programs and interventions with a BI lens.

Learning Objectives

By the end of the course, you will be able to:

  1. Describe behavioural insights (BI) as a tool for behavioural change.
  2. Describe the ways in which BI can contribute to a social and behavioural change program or intervention.
  3. Explain BI methodology. 
  4. Recall practical examples of BI in low and middle-income settings.
  5. Identify when BI is an appropriate tool to leverage versus when it is not.

By the end of the course, you will be able to feel:

  • Confident in communicating with various stakeholders about how BI can (or cannot) enhance behavioural change programs or interventions.
  • Motivated to further expand your skills, knowledge, and understanding of BI.
  • Confident in partnering with a BI team.
Audience

This learning course is applicable to:

  • UNICEF's C4D staff and other UNICEF programs’ staff who would like to learn more about applying BI to their own work.
  • Those collaborating with C4D staff on various projects. 

Length

It should take you about 6 hours in total (2 per module) to complete this self-paced course.

Methodology

The course is composed of three content modules, each module includes interactive content, videos, knowledge checks, practice activities, and graded assessments to help you to build and strengthen your understanding of how to best integrate BI into UNICEF's ongoing work.
