This learning pathway will provide you with a basic knowledge of nutrition cluster coordination. The learning pathway contains all the level 1 modules related to the functional competencies of the cluster coordination competency framework. You will learn how to set up a nutrition cluster and explore its basic outputs. You will also be provided with an introduction to nutrition cluster needs assessments, resource mobilisation, monitoring and advocacy.
Learning objectives
At the end of this course, you will be able to:
- Describe the different types of nutrition needs assessments and their purpose- Describe the structure and characteristics of a nutrition cluster
- List five basic outputs needed to support collaboration and information-sharing within a cluster
- List key funding sources and mechanisms in a humanitarian emergency
- Explain what the 4W is and identify methods to collect 4W data
- Identify key global initiatives and processes in nutrition that are relevant for nutrition cluster advocacy
- Discuss possible constraints and solutions to enhancing local and national actors’ participation, coordination and decision-making
