Emergency Preparedness and Response is a collective responsibility we all share. It enables an effective humanitarian response placing affected population at the centre of our work. The LAC Humanitarian Action Capacity Building Program includes a list of multi-sectoral readings that are intended to enhance and complement existing staff capacities through a careful review of key esssential documents.
Learning objectives
At the end of this course, you will be able to:
- Understand how the L2 procedure enhances the response at a country level and the criteria and process used to define L2 and L3 emergencies.
- Understand the essential roles and responsibilities of UNICEF in the Cluster Coordination and Areas of Responsibility (AOR).
- Understand the key aspects and phases of the Humanitarian Programme Cycle.
- Understand the CERF Rapid Response Window procedures and Life-saving Criteria.
Audience
This learning programme is essential to the LAC Regional Rapid Response Roster, current and future members, LAC Emergency Focal Points, and is recommended to all programme and operations staff at LAC COs, LACRO levels who are involved in Emergency Preparedness and Response.
Length
It should take you about 12 hours to read all the documents and resources available.
