Overview
The Management Masterclass Programme is a new initiative to strengthen personal leadership and managerial capacities of existing supervisors, as well as colleagues transitioning into supervisory positions.
The programme builds self-awareness, self-management, relationship & people management skills, and social awareness.
Topics include:
- Key management behaviours with a focus on self-management and role modelling
- Effective communication and influencing skills
- A coaching and enabling management style
- Principles of project management
- Change management, and managing in times of uncertainty
- Managing relationships, including managing conflict
Target Audience
UNICEF staff at the P3/NO-C, P4/NO-D, and P5 levels, working in a managerial function, supervising two or more staff members.
Programme Structure
The programme comprises three distinct components:
- Pre-course assignment to be completed individually, including a personal style assessment
- Two face-to-face sessions
- Follow-up activities
The programme is designed to run over the course of 4 – 6 months – this includes time to practice and reflect on the new skills and tools participants will have acquired during the residential component.
Programme Dates
The programme is launching in New York, from 21-25 August 2017. The programme is scheduled to be rolled out globally through 2018.
