Course Description
The PPP training course aims to improve knowledge of the evolving global context of UNICEF country programming, enhance the skills for applying a systematic approach to the country programming process, and contribute to achieving higher quality programming that fully integrates and applies normative principles, policies and procedures of the organization.
Target Audience
All UNICEF staff, especially new staff and programme staff.
Objectives
1. To improve your knowledge of the evolving global context and key drivers of UNICEF programming
2. To enhance your skills in applying a systematic approach to the country programming process
3. To understand the normative framework within which UNICEF's work for children takes place
4. To update your knowledge on how UNICEF programmes are designed, implemented, monitored and managed
5. To allow you to better guide and support higher quality programming that applies UNICEF's core policies and processes
Topics covered:
The workshop design is based on the Programme Policy and Procedure Manual. Workshops are tailored to country programme contexts and need of participants. The designed is fashioned under several building blocks:
- Country Programme Approach
- Programme Preparation: Assessment and Analysis
- Country programme Design
- Programme implementation and Management
- Monitoring and Evaluation
To prepare for the Workshops, participants are required to do some pre-course assignemnts, including completing the elearning packages on Gender, UN Coherence and You! And HACT. Other elearning packages will be added as they get completed.
Training methodologies:
This course shares concepts and ideas, use of VIPP for presentations and group reporting, including role plays, group exercises, PPT presentations and various case studies.
