This module introduces you to the basics of communicating and disseminating information during an emergency. You will learn about managing meetings, contact lists and email lists as well as developing bulletins and other information products. You will be introduced to the GNC brand book and understand when/where it is appropriate to use its resources.

Learning objectives

By the end of this module, you will be able to:

  • List various tools and templates used by the cluster for communication and dissemination;
  • List the elements required in a contact list; and
  • Describe the steps involved in organising a cluster meeting.


This module is an introductory-level course aimed at anyone who is interested in developing skills and knowledge in nutrition information management in humanitarian contexts, and who needs to engage with coordination and humanitarian architecture on this topic. It is part of the recommended learning path for sub-national IMOs aiming to progress to national-level roles.
