Because of containment measures that restrict physical movement of people, many cluster/sector coordinators are having to lead the cluster remotely. The coordinator’s role in providing influential and strategic leadership to the coordination team and the wider cluster in these circumstances is more challenging but even more important.

Learning objectives

By the end of this module, you will be able to:

  • Identify challenges that individuals and teams might be facing as a result of unplanned remote working,
  • Describe some of the actions that you can take to manage your team more effectively while they are working remotely,
  • Explain the impact that limited physical engagement with the cluster might have on partners,
  • Describe some of the actions that you can take to provide effective remote leadership to the wider cluster.

Audience

This module is an advanced-level course aimed at anyone who is interested in refining their skills and knowledge in nutrition cluster coordination in humanitarian contexts, and who needs to lead humanitarian practitioners on this topic.
