This learning pathway will provide you with a basic knowledge of nutrition cluster information management. The learning pathway contains all the level 1 modules related to the functional competencies of the information management competency framework. You will learn how to set up a nutrition cluster information management system and explore its basic outputs. You will also be provided with an introduction to humanitarian and nutrition data, data management tools, visualisation and mapping.

Learning objectives

At the end of this course, you will be able to:

- List IM tools from the IM Toolkit that are used in different phases of the HRP 
- Describe the types of data that are made available and maintained for emergency response use ur types of nutrition needs assessment 
 - Explain how to create a needs survey database /assessment registry and share information on needs assessments 
- Create Excel PivotTables to calculate, summarise, and analyse data for comparisons, patterns, and trends 
- Explain what the 4W is and identify methods to collect 4W data 
- Demonstrate how to create a metadata catalogue 
- Identify considerations in choosing technology for a shared drive 
- List various tools and templates used by the nutrition cluster for communication and dissemination 
- Describe design principles that are key to developing effective visualisations 
- Design and create data dynamic interactive visualisations and dashboards in Power BI 
- Identify the main elements in a capacity development plan

This is an introductory learning pathway targeted at individuals working in a national or sub-national cluster in a non-complex environment.

It should take you on average 30 hours to complete this self-paced course.
