About the course

The Supply & Logistics Emergency Preparedness & Response virtual workshop for LACR and WCAR colleagues on 5, 7, 12, 14 October 2021 is virtual facilitated training. The training combines presentations, case studies, an overview of policies and tools pertaining to emergencies, guest lectures from external partners, practical exercises and a simulation exercise.


Learning objectives

At the end of the workshop, you will be able to develop an Emergency Supply and Logistics  Strategy. 

You will also:

  • Discuss the architecture, policies and principles that govern UNICEF’s humanitarian action.
  • Identify how to use the organizational mechanisms of emergency preparedness and response. 
  • Be aware of the available support mechanisms from UNICEF Supply Division.


Methodology

This programme is organized into 4 online sessions, including one session for an emergency simulation. You will be awarded a certificate after the successful completion of all phases.

Structure

Each session will give you the chance to learn more and discuss:

  • UNICEF Policies and Processes in emergencies
  • Emergency Supply & Logistics Preparedness and Response Strategy
  • Warehouse operations.

Primary: Supply & Logistics staff, Emergency Managers/Specialists

Secondary: Programme and Operations staff
