Welcome to this course on Implementation of construction activities through CSOs.
This on-line course is one of the construction and infrastructure modular trainings. The course aims to provide UNICEF staff and Civil Society Organizations working with UNICEF with foundational knowledge on undertaking construction activities as part of UNICEF’s programme intervention through partnership with CSOs following UNICEF Procedure for Country and Regional Office CSO Implementing Partnerships.
Structure
The course is made up of four modules, for approximately 1.5 hour of total learning time.
- Module 1: Construction in UNICEF and implementation modalities.
- Module 2: Partnership with CSOs to implement construction activities
- Module 3: Designing and formalizing relationship with CSOs
- Module 4: Implementation and monitoring of programme intervention including construction activity

Learning objectives
- Identify the key considerations for determining the modalities for engaging CSOs to implement construction activities.
- Describe the roles and responsibilities of UNICEF staff and CSOs to plan and implement construction activities through partnership arrangement.
- Identify the key technical requirements to implement construction activities through partnership arrangement with CSOs including capacity assessment, preparation of technical documents, establishment of project management strategy, and monitoring of construction activities.
Audience
This on-line course is recommended for all UNICEF Construction and WASH Engineers, Programme staff involved in the management of construction activities implemented through a partnership with CSOs, Supply staff, and CSOs working with UNICEF.
