This is Module 2 of a four-module short course about NNIS.

In order for an NNIS to be effective and useful, its scope and requirements must be informed by a clear purpose and a shared understanding of the national nutrition priorities. In this module we look at some core principles and good practices for ensuring that an NNIS meets the needs of stakeholders.

Learning objectives

By the end of this module, you will be able to:

  • Explain key factors that increase the effectiveness and usefulness of an NNIS
  • Define the scope of an NNIS 
  • List core principles for designing, building and refining an NNIS 
  • Describe good practices for making an NNIS effective

Audience

This is an intermediate-level module aimed at anyone who is interested in furthering their skills and knowledge in nutrition cluster coordination and nutrition information management in humanitarian contexts, and who needs to coordinate and collaborate with the humanitarian architecture on this topic. This module is part of the recommended learning path for national nutrition cluster coordinators and information management officers aiming to progress to senior-level roles.
