National and local actors can face many barriers to participation in Information Management (IM) activities and it is important for the Information Management Officer (IMO) to recognise these and take steps to address these. This module explores what sort of barriers exist and what steps the IMO can take to address them.

By the end of this module, you will be able to:

  • Explain importance of participation in IM activities of local and national actors and list barriers to their participation
  • Describe ways to reduce barriers and increase inclusion and participation in sector and IM activities
  • Reflect on the extent that national partners participate in IM activities in your professional context

This module is suitable for anyone who is interested developing their knowledge and skills for information management in humanitarian contexts, including those who need to engage with coordination and humanitarian architecture on this topic.
