Gender-based violence (GBV) is widespread in all crises. During a humanitarian crisis, many factors can exacerbate GBV-related risks. All humanitarian actors have a responsibility to mitigate GBV risks. Learn how to integrate risk mitigation across all sectors to ensure the rights and well-being of the most vulnerable are protected at every stage.

Learning objectives

By the end of the module, you should be able to:

• Define gender-based violence (GBV) and GBV risk mitigation,
• Explain UNICEF's approach to GBV risk mitigation and how it is anchored in UNICEF’s institutional commitments and systems
• Describe how GBV and GBV risk mitigation link to cluster coordination teams and what your role is in risk mitigation
• Explain how to integrate GBV risk mitigation in cluster coordination, throughout the HPC, and in cluster work beyond the HPC
• List some of the available GBV risk mitigation tools and reflect on how to apply them to practical scenarios

Audience

This module targets primarily Cluster/AoR Coordination Teams (coordinators and IMOs), and while it is aimed at education cluster/EiE working group coordination teams specifically, it is also relevant to those working in all clusters/ sectors/ AoRs.

This module is also suitable for staff of organisations members of any cluster/sector/AoR.

Length

It should take you about 60 minutes to complete this self-paced course.

Methodology

This course is composed of a single short self-paced animated module, including various examples and activities.
