Course Overview
Markets play a critical role in ensuring that children, their families and communities have access to the essential products and services they need. Healthy markets are markets where buyers have access to adequate supply of affordable and fit-for-purpose quality products and services which are provided by suppliers who operate within a sustainable, competitive market.
Unfortunately, markets for essential products and services in countries where UNICEF operates are not always healthy. This means products may not be reaching children and their families.
When markets are not healthy, UNICEF’s market shaping approach enables a diagnosis of the root causes of market shortcomings and identification of the types of interventions that can improve market health – and ultimately access.
