Learning Objectives

After completing this Learning Pathway, you should:

  • Know how BI and HCD function in SBC initiatives.  
  • Know when BI is an appropriate approach to an SBC-related issue.  
  • Believe that BI and HCD have an important role in UNICEF's mission and vision, particularly in the SBC function
  • Include BI and HCD theory and practice in the design of SBC initiatives when appropriate.
  • Be able to commission BI and HCD expertise through appropriately developed ToRs.
  • Engage with appropriate BI expertise when needed through the LTA or other mechanisms.
  • Be an advocate for the use of BI and HCD in SBC initiatives, both in their office contexts and UNICEF more broadly.

Audience

This Learning Pathway is primarily for UNICEF staff and external partners who are interested in learning about Behavioural Science and HCD in UNICEF. It is an intermediate pathway, which means that it will provide detailed information about BI, HCD, and research in SBC.

  • UNICEF staff (country offices, Regional Offices and HQ)
  • UNICEF partners
  • UNICEF and National Committee consultants, interns, volunteers, goodwill ambassadors and National Committee board members
  • UNICEF government, civil society and corporate partners as appropriate

Length

How long this Pathway will take will depend on how you choose to complete the elective portion of the Pathway. We suggest you plan to spend several hours each week for 3 - 4 weeks to complete this Learning Pathway. 

Methodology

This Learning Pathway includes five required courses, an elective, and access to two of the SBC Expert Series videos.

Structure

This Learning Pathway includes courses from Agora and videos on YouTube.
