Learning objectives
Through this ‘Certified UNICEF Champion ’ course, supervisors of office functions will:
- Develop an appreciation of the value of KM and the role it can play in meeting office objectives.
- Be exposed to concrete KM projects and understand how these can contribute to results.
- Be able to Identify specific tools that can be used and applied in offices to champion KM and ensure an enabling environment for KM to thrive.
Audience
The ‘Certified UNICEF KM Champion’ course targets supervisors of all functional areas in a country office. The primary audience are supervisors of the KM function, and the secondary audience are all supervisors of other functions which can all benefit from successful KM implementation.
Methodology
This pilot course combines optional live sessions and a required self-paced e-course. It covers a basic introduction to knowledge management and its value to UNICEF while providing supervisors with the approaches and tools they need to leverage KM and champion it in their office. The course features specific examples and inspirations from different UNICEF country offices and provides different methods of interaction to internalize the lessons.

tructure
The ‘Certified UNICEF KM Champion’ Course is comprised of three interventions:
- First intervention: Optional 60 minutes live session introducing KM, its value and how you can champion it.
- Second intervention: Mandatory 60 minutes self-paced Agora e-course covering the following modules:
- Module 1: KM as an enabler in achieving UNICEF’s goals.
- Module 2: How you and your team can use KM for improved results.
- Module 3: How you can champion KM in the office.
- Third intervention: Optional 60 minutes live session featuring a marketplace of KM projects and their results, and course wrap-up.
- Module 1: KM as an enabler in achieving UNICEF’s goals.
- Module 2: How you and your team can use KM for improved results.
- Module 3: How you can champion KM in the office.
Length
The estimated time to complete the core elements of the e-course is approximately 60 minutes. Participants who wish to go in-depth on mini-modules dedicated to specific topics will need an extra 30 minutes.
Completion Requirements
A 70% success rate on the "Final quiz" (section "ASSESSMENT" at the end of the course) is required to earn a Certificate and an Open Badge for successful completion of the course. You can take the assessment as many times as needed to pass.
