About the course

This is a self-paced online course for humanitarian practitioners to develop their knowledge, skills, and understanding of import and customs processes for the cross-border movement of emergency humanitarian assistance. It will enable practitioners to manage the challenges of importing and delivering humanitarian aid to affected countries. This course is developed and delivered in partnership with the IMPACCT Working Group as a contribution to the humanitarian community.

Learning Objectives

To improve knowledge, skills and understanding of import and customs processes, contextualized for humanitarian operations.


Public

Logisticians from UN agencies, NGOs, government agencies and the private sector who are involved in importing humanitarian goods into the countries where their organisation operates.


Duration

Ce cours demande un total d'environ 5 heures de temps d'apprentissage.

Self-paced presentations, quizzes, and webinars. 


Course content

The course consists of five modules:

  1. Customs and Import in the Humanitarian Context
  2. Coordinated border management
  3. The real costs of importing humanitarian relief goods
  4. Quality of documents and information
  5. Modernizing Customs Systems
