Learning objectives

  • After completing Module 1 learners will be able to define COI, provide an overview of the role of COI in RSD procedures and discuss how to identify key COI research questions for the assessment of an applicant’s claim. 
  • Module 2 will enable learners to develop appropriate research strategies, conduct online COI research methodically, and use COI databases and search engines as research tools. 
  • After completing Module 3 learners will be able to identify and apply COI quality standards and principles, conduct source assessments, and understand how to deal with dubious sources, including social media. 
  • Finally, Module 4 will ensure learners can apply the standards of transparency and traceability in presenting research results, use appropriate language to avoid the distortion of information, understand the scope of COI and explain the limitations of COI.

Methodology

This course is composed of four self-paced modules, with two summative assessments (on Modules 1-2 and 3-4).
