"In the context of increasing humanitarian need, there is growing urgency to address the root causes of crisis by strengthening the linkages between humanitarian, development and peace programmes.  


This module explores what the Humanitarian-Development-Peace (HDP) Nexus is, how it has arisen, the implications for humanitarian, development and peace actors and what the HDP Nexus approach involves. The module also considers the role of AoRs/ clusters/ sectors in relation to the HDP Nexus and considers practical actions that can be taken to strengthen humanitarian, development and peace linkages. 


Learning objectives

After completing this module, you will be able to: 

  • Explain what the Humanitarian-Development-Peace (HDP) Nexus is,  
  • Describe what the HDP Nexus approach involves,  
  • Identify practical actions AoRs/ clusters/ sectors can take to increase connectivity between humanitarian, development and peace interventions.
