About the programme
UNICEF is committed to investing in the development of people management skills for its 6,500+ people managers to enhance its effectiveness and impact in achieving results for children. The organization recognizes the challenges many managers face in performance discussions, professional growth support, handling inappropriate behaviour, and keeping teams engaged and motivated, and is dedicated to strengthening approaches, systems and behaviours that promote accountability for people management. UNICEF proposes a comprehensive and integrated approach to improve people management practices by aligning the existing competency framework, learning solutions, performance management, and other tools with the everyday challenges that managers face at work. The goal is to implement a comprehensive package of key initiatives aimed at improving people management practices, in line with the core values of UNICEF, by the end of the current strategic plan period (2025).
The Manager Support Programme aims to improve the effectiveness and efficiency of managers working with their team members so that individuals, teams, and UNICEF as a whole deliver better results for children.
