As part of the Manager Support Programme - Managing People With Purpose, we have developed a curriculum of 17 micro learnings, all between 15 and 20 minutes long, that focus on how you, as a supervisor in UNICEF, can deal with common situations and events in your team.

You can think of these as the guide on how we do management in UNICEF.

Learning objectives

At the end of this course, you will be able to:

  • understand UNICEF's expectations of you as a manager;
  • recognize the impact of your supervisory role on the success of UNICEF's people and outcomes;
  • know where to turn for guidance, tools, and support in managing performance and difficult conversations.

    Audience

    These modules are mandatory for all UNICEF supervisors, but any colleague can access them, regardless of their role – this allows staff that plan to transition to a supervisory role, or who often act as interim for a supervisor, to also come up to speed with our best practices on management.

    Length

    All 17 modules are short and punchy (15-20 minutes long), filled with additional content and resources for you to explore based on your interests and specific context. Completing all 17 modules takes approximately 4,5-6 hours, but of course, it also depends on your own individual learning pace.

    Methodology

    This course is composed of 17 self-paced online micro-learnings, that you can take in your own individual time and schedule, allowing for a flexible learning experience.
