The The objective of the course is to technically strengthen public servants, officials of non-governmental organizations, the civil society or humanitarian organizations to promote better understanding and development of actions that contribute to the protection of children and migrant adolescence, within the framework of national policies and norms and international. The course is based on the identification, analysis and approach of prejudices and practices that do not facilitate the protection of children; and includes content that incorporates the equity approach of gender.

Learning Objectives

  • Define the concept of migration and its different modalities.
  • Describe the different ways of understanding childhood and adolescence.
  • Understanding the Basics of the protection of children and adolescents from violence by gender.
  • Approaching the concepts of identity and diversity.
  • Propose the elements basic for the transformation of social norms.
  • Understand what are stereotypes, prejudice and discrimination.
  • Presenting the references for the protection and guarantee of the rights of children; and migrant girls.
  • Recognize the rights and Guarantees for migrant children and adolescents.
  • Present the regulations established to guarantee the protection and rights of the migrant children and adolescents.
  • Recognize routes to guarantee the rights of migrant children and adolescents.
  • Identify the routes to in emergency situations that require specialized care, such as human trafficking, sexual violence, gender-based violence or recruitment forced.
  • Apply the approaches and Principles for the care of migrant children and adolescents.


Audience

  • Officials of government and people working on policies, plans and programmes government agencies related to migrant children and adolescents.
  • With level university education and/or with knowledge and/or experience in protection programs for migrant children and adolescents.
  • Officials of non-governmental organizations that carry out actions aimed at children, migrant girls and adolescents.


Duration

Completing this course will take approximately 70 hours.


Methodology

This course is made up of an introduction, four content modules, and a final section that tests the knowledge acquired. Each module it is composed of several units with interactive resources; a video that presents the key ideas and messages facilitating their understanding; a forum where the student can express their opinions and proposals, and a final evaluation activity which encourages you to reflect on the learning of each module. Each unit It is composed of sections of conceptual development, case studies, reflections and practical recommendations to apply what has been learned.

At the end, the student will be able to download summary material of the main contents of the course and develop a survey for improvement permanent in the learning process.

The course is made up of 6 modules:

  • Module 0. Introduction
  • Module I. Conceptualization of The migratory approach and conceptions of migrant children and adolescents.
  • Module II. Transformations to build scenarios of inclusion and non-discrimination.
  • Module III. Regulation for the Protection of migrant children and adolescents.
  • Module IV. Routes, protocols, programs, strategies, and services to promote the prevention of violence and the restoration of the rights of children and adolescents migrants.
  • Module V. Closure
