Welcome to UNICEF's Information Security Awareness Training! In this course, you’ll discover the essential security policies and best practices that every staff member must follow to safeguard our digital assets and protect the organization’s sensitive information.
Cybersecurity is a team effort. Remember, we're only as strong as our weakest link, so it's crucial for each of us to stay vigilant and do our part in keeping UNICEF safe from cyber threats.

Learning objectives
By successfully completing this module, you will:
- Increase your knowledge on information security, personal information and privacy.
- Identify the main risks when using information technology.
- Identify threats such as social engineering, phishing and malware.
- Learn how to protect your personal data as well as the organization's data from growing information security threats.
- Learn how to report information security incidents.
Audience
This course is mandatory for all UNICEF personnel* who have an @unicef.org email address, including UNICEF staff and consultants, UN volunteers and interns, as well as others as appropriate. For NatCom staff, this course is optional but highly recommended.
*You are required to complete this course if you have not taken UNICEF’s previous Information Security Awareness Training after 2022. Please note that the training must be completed within Agora, courses taken on other platforms or offered by other agencies are not considered equivalent.
Length
The estimated time to complete this training is 30-65 minutes.
Methodology
This course is composed of an introduction, four short self-paced modules, and final section testing the newly acquired knowledge. Each module introduces 'key messages' illustrated by interactive icons and short videos providing more information. The videos walk you through the main concepts of each module, facilitating its understanding. The videos are available with or without audio, a transcript is provided for all. A final activity encourages you to reflect on the learning for each module and, finally, the course as a whole.
