This module will introduce you to the humanitarian system and humanitarian coordination, its history and its fundamental principles. In addition, you will learn all about the cluster approach, its architecture, and the functions of the cluster.
Learning Objectives
By the end of this module, you will be able to:
- Be informed about the history and origins of the humanitarian system and humanitarian coordination.
- Understand "who does what" within the humanitarian coordination system at the global and country level.
- Learn more about the cluster approach, how to enable and disable it, and the architecture and functions of the cluster.
- Commit to meeting the minimum requirements for participation in cluster/sector coordination mechanisms such as humanitarian principles and partnership principles.
Audience
This module is an introductory course for anyone who wants to develop skills and knowledge in cluster coordination in humanitarian contexts, and who needs to engage in the humanitarian architecture on this topic. It is part of the recommended learning path for partners and coordination teams of Clusters at the national and sub-national level.
Duration
It should take you about 45 minutes to complete this self-paced course.
Methodology
This course consists of a single, short, self-paced facilitated module with a variety of examples and activities.
