This course is meant to create awareness and develop a common understanding among UNICEF personnel on the organization’s vision and work on gender equality and girls' and women’s empowerment.
Learning objectives
After completing this course, you should be able to:
- Demonstrate knowledge and understanding of the UNICEF mandate and vision on gender equality and girls' and women’s empowerment in their work and with colleagues, partners, governments, etc;
- Be able to describe what UNICEF is doing to advance gender equality and girls' and women’s empowerment in both programmes and in institutional systems and processes;
- Explain why gender equality and girls' and women’s empowerment is an organisational value and a responsibility of all, irrespective to their role;
- Be aware of unequal power dynamics from a gender perspective and how they affect programmes and the organization at large.
Audience
Applicable to all UNICEF personnel, regardless of function and level, covering general service, national officers, international professionals and temporary appointments.Length
It should take you about 45 minutes to complete this course.
Methodology
This self-paced, asynchronous course includes a pre-assessment, four short modules, and a post-assessment. The modules combine videos, case studies, testimonials, knowledge checks, and interactive activities to build awareness and understanding of gender equality and the empowerment of girls and women.
