THIS COURSE IS OUTDATED

The tutorial is designed for UN staff, highlighting the work that's underway across the UN System to improve its environmental performance and providing helpful advice on how each individual can contribute to that effort, by calculating and reducing their own footprint.

Learning objectives

This course aims to ensure that all UN staff:

  • Understand the UN’s commitment to combatting climate change
  • Understand key concepts of UN environmental efforts such as offsetting
  • Are empowered to make green decisions, primarily at work when designing, delivering and managing UN projects and programs, but hopefully also in their private lives.
  • Change their behaviour and ultimately reduce the UN’s footprint.

Audience

This course is suitable to all UN staff - including consultants and interns.

Length

It should take about 60 minutes to complete this tutorial.

Methodology

The tutorial takes the form of an animation in which we follow two UN staffers – Stick and Bean – as they overcome the challenge of being green in an typical UN office.
