This course has been designed to help you better understand, and better manage, the powerful ever-present role that emotions play in communication and conflict. The first module is "The Role of Emotions in a Harmonious Workplace” and it deals with the obligation, especially of managers, to ensure that emotions at work are well managed. The second module, "Building Awareness and Skills” gives practical advice on how to achieve this by building awareness and skills.

Learning objectives

At the end of this course, you will be able to:

  • Explain the role of emotions in workplace communication and conflict
  • Identify emotional triggers and their impact on behavior and interactions
  • Analyze how emotions influence team dynamics and managerial responsibilities
  • Apply techniques to manage emotions effectively in challenging situations
  • Demonstrate improved communication skills to foster a harmonious workplace
  • Evaluate personal emotional responses and adjust behaviors to enhance collaboration

Audience

Main audience is extended to all UN workforce, but the course is publicly available for everyone interested.

Length

It should take you about 60 to 90 minutes to complete this self-paced course.

  • "Building Awareness and Skills”
