The Management Masterclass Programme is a new initiative to strengthen personal leadership and managerial capacities of existing supervisors, as well as colleagues transitioning into supervisory positions.
The programme builds self-awareness, self-management, relationship & people management skills, and social awareness.
Topics include:
- Key management behaviours with a focus on self-management and role modelling
- Effective communication and influencing skills
- A coaching and enabling management style
- Principles of project management
- Change management, and managing in times of uncertainty
- Managing relationships, including managing conflict
UNICEF staff at the P3/NO-C, P4/NO-D, and P5 levels on a permanent, fixed term or continuing contract working in a managerial function are eligible. (Applications from those who supervise two or more staff and consultants will be prioritized)
The programme comprises three distinct components:
1. Pre-course assignment
2. First face-to-face residential: 3 full days
3. 3 month break- with 2 or 3 inter-modular activities which participants will utilize to consolidate their learning and put into practice some of the things they have learned.
4. Second face-to-face residential: 3 full days
5. Post-course activities-participants will use the 2 post-modular activities to further consolidate their learning and also put into practice some of the things they have learned.
The programme is designed to run over the course of 6 months – this includes time to practice and reflect on the new skills and tools participants will have acquired during the residential component.
Module 1 of the programme will be held on 29 to 31 August 2018.
