About the credential

Self-directed gender certification through an online exam available to all UNICEF personnel. A companion preparatory guide is available. Part of the UNICEF GenderPro initiative for gender capacity strengthening.

Important information:

This is a credential exam and not a standard course like others found in the AGORA platform. To facilitate success in the exam, it is recommended to:

1) read the preparatory guide (included here); 

2) take the exam; and 

3) re-attempt the exam as many times as you like within a 14 -day period

Learning objectives

  • To identify and explain key components of gender concepts, international frameworks, gender-responsive programming.
  • To demonstrate understanding of gender analysis and barriers faced by girls, boys and diverse women in development and humanitarian contexts.

Audience

All UNICEF personnel (country offices, regional offices and HQ).

Length

The time to take the exam is approximately 30 to 60 minutes. Additional time for preparation is recommended. See prep guide, which is available once you click the “View Activity Details” button at the top-right of the screen.

Methodology

Self-directed and can be started at any time. Reviewing the companion preparatory guide is recommended. Must be completed within 14 days of the start date.
