This course aims to provide UNICEF staff with foundational knowledge on planning a sound strategy for implementing construction and infrastructure projects aligned with the new construction procedures and guidelines. 

The content of this e-learning course applies to all construction and rehabilitation projects, whether direct or indirect implementation modality is used.

The course has been designed mainly for Programme staff involved in construction and in-house technical expertise. Supply staff also is targeted as they are engaged in planning the procurement process.


Structure

The course is made up of three modules, for approximately 1.5 hour of total learning time. 

  • Module 1: Programme Planning.
  • Module 2: Planning for construction. 
  • Module 3: Key aspects for construction planning.

Learning objectives

By the end of this course you will be familiar with:

  • Identify the Programme Planning Process and key considerations prior to involvement in construction.
  • Describe the planning stage in the construction workflow.
  • Identify common challenges associated with poor planning, and the roles & responsibilities of UNICEF Programme, Supply Section and in-house technical expertise.
