About the course

This course covers fundamental concepts of Risk Management and Enterprise Risk Management (ERM) and essential elements that UNICEF staff should be aware of when implementing ERM across the organization. In today's world of rapid change, organizations are taking on elevated levels of risk. This phenomenon has reinforced the need to apply appropriate ERM strategies to monitor and manage risk at the proper levels. It is crucial to managing activities in a manner that can allow an organization to align risk strategies with risk management and internal control activities. From this course, you will come away with a broad understanding of ERM and how it fits within UNICEF's Vision, Objectives, and Strategy.

Learning objectives

At the end of this course, you will be able to:

  • Explain the concept of risk maturity concerning UNICEF's vision, objective, and strategy
  • Discuss why risk maturity is important to an organization
  • Describe how UNICEF's ERM Maturity Model aligns with the HLCM Reference Maturity Model
  • Identify ERM Maturity Initiatives, significant to UNICEF

Audience

A globally dispersed workforce, and in particular operations staff, who serve as organizational risk and policy focal points for their respective offices.

Length

The total duration of this course is 45 minutes.

Methodology

This course is composed of series of single self-paced modules, including, examples, cases scenarios, and knowledge checks. At the end of each module, a short assessment must be passed with a minimum score of 80% to receive a certificate of completion.
