This module builds on learning in the module 'Introduction to the role of the Coordinator'. It explores in more detail how the Coordinator can strengthen the coordination function by effective collaboration with the Information Management Officer or Specialist (IMS), other Coordinators working in the same sector at national or sub-national level, AoR/ cluster/ sector members and colleagues within their own organization in programmatic or management positions. The module also considers how to maintain neutrality through all points of collaboration.
LEARNING OBJECTIVES
After completing this module, you will be able to:
- Explain how a Coordinator can effectively collaborate with an Information Management Officer or Specialist (IMS),
- Describe the roles of the national and sub-national Coordinators and ways they can effectively collaborate to strengthen the AoR/ cluster/ sector response,
- Explain how to leverage AoR/ cluster/ sector members’ contributions to strengthen coordination capacity,
- Explain how neutrality, and the perception of neutrality, is important for the effective coordination of an AoR/ cluster/ sector,
- Identify ways a Coordinator can work with colleagues within the Cluster Lead Agency and AoR/ cluster/ sector members to maintain neutrality,
- Reflect on your own experiences and identify actions you can take to improve your performance.

Anyone working in a coordination or information management role in an AoR, cluster, sector or working group or anyone supervising their work; pepole who are interested in these roles or who work closely with AoRs or clusters.
