About the course
Good Distribution Practices (GDP) is that area of quality assurance that ensures that pharmaceutical and nutrition products are consistently stored, transported, and handled under the temperature conditions defined for the product.
Workshop Objective
The objective of the training is to introduce Good Distribution Practices (GDP) for pharmaceutical and nutrition products and their main requirements with regards to UNICEF supply activities.
Learning Objectives
At the end of the course, participants will be able to:
- Understand the basic requirements of GDP;
- Interpret the requirements of GDP as per the relevant GDP guidelines;
- Recognize how GDP is applied during warehousing and transportation with respect to UNICEF SD.
Target Audience
- UNICEF Supply Division Staff. This includes new staff, staff who require retraining, or those who are not familiar with the principles of Good Distribution Practice and wish to enhance their understanding.
- UNICEF Supply Division Staff members who deal with pharmaceutical and nutrition products, especially staff from MNC, ITC, GTC, QAC and VC.
Methodology
- This is an interactive face-to-face training that combines presentations with practical exercises.
- The training consists of 1 session of 4 hours. Participants are expected to fully attend and actively participate.
- In preparation for the training, participants are requested to read the guidance "Good storage and distribution practices for medical products".
- At the end of the training, there is a short test (15 minutes) and a passing grade is required in order to obtain a course certificate.
