While we will touch on the related issue of sexual exploitation and abuse – which relates to inappropriate behavior of a sexual nature against the people UNICEF serves – our specific focus in this course is on preventing and addressing sexual harassment by a UNICEF employee, against a colleague or any other individual within the workplace and work-related contexts.

We will cover the UN-wide and UNICEF-specific policies and strategies related to preventing and addressing sexual harassment.

We will highlight how to recognize and avoid inappropriate behaviors that could constitute sexual harassment, and how to handle sexual harassment if you experience it.

We will discuss the collective role that everyone has in promoting a safe and secure work environment, including the role of witnesses and bystanders.

And we will discuss the specific responsibilities of Managers.

Finally, we will provide you with the various resources that are available in terms of support, advice, and reporting.
