About the course


The purpose of the "Introduction to Caring for Child Survivors of Sexual Abuse (2nd Edition)" e-learning course is to meet the increasing demand for capacity building on Caring for Child Survivors of Sexual Abuse (CCS). This course aims at providing the foundational knowledge on CCS, based on Chapters 1 and 2 of the updated CCS resource package (Guidelines and Training, 2nd Edition, 2023). This e-learning course is a pre-requisite to join the face-to-face CCS training. It can also be used as a refresher for those who have been trained.


Learning objectives

After completing this course, participants will be able to:

  • Explain child sexual abuse in context.
  • Identify the CCS approach to case management.
  • Familiarize with the CCS guiding principles.
  • Identify and explain the core child sexual abuse knowledge areas.

  • Staff who provide Child Protection and/or Gender-Based Violence case management services in humanitarian settings.
  • Other actors providing services and care to child survivors of sexual abuse (such as health and legal) can also benefit from the CCS resources.
